Il filo conduttore dell'esposizione di opere multimediali di ArtNetLab presso XX.9.12 FABRIKArte è la relazione fra la dinamica e la statica dell'immagine new-media.
Un'immagine video e un'immagine interattiva manipolata al computer sono fondamentalmente dinamiche; i lavori esposti esplorano l'aspetto opposto dell'accelerazione di una generazione automatizzata di immagini (Flusser), rielaborando le nuove condizioni del linguaggio contemporaneo visuale che cambiano completamente l'immagine statica.
Nei lavori individuali, sia i progetti video che di software-art sono la fonte da cui gli artisti visuali estraggono un dipinto nel vero senso della parola.
Attraverso la stampa o applicando manualmente pigmenti sulla superficie la tradizionale immagine statica diventa un derivato di una particolare immagine new-media, che è a sua volta un flusso di dati visuali. Peter Weibel afferma che il principale conseguimento dell'immagine new-media è la forzata rinascita dei media tradizionali.

Ogni immagine è la personale affermazione di un essere umano e il montaggio di molteplici immagini corrisponde a una rete di relazioni umane che include l'interazione dei visitatori che possono creare un percorso personale attraverso l'opera.

Formalmente costituita nel 2003 ma attiva già dal 2000, ArtNetLab è un'unità autonoma di produzione di 'intermedia art' (arte multimediale) in Slovenia. E' un'unità sperimentale che opera sull'interazione fra arte e scienza presentando techno-performance che utilizzano media interattivi, progetti 'open source art', interagendo con Internet-art e video. ArtNetlab lavora con giovani artisti multimediali per sviluppare I propri progetti con l'uso delle più recenti tecnologie informatiche. Partecipa inoltre a molti Festival dell'Arte Multimediale in Slovenia e all'estero.

The fil rouge of the exhibition of new media works by ArtNetLab artists in the XX.9.12 FABRIKArte is the relationship between the dynamic and the static new media image.
A video image and an interactive computer manipulated image are fundamentally dynamic; however the works exhibited explore the reverse aspect of the "acceleration" of the automatized image generation (Flusser) by rethinking the new conditions of the contemporary visual languages that change the static image completely.
In the individual works either videos or software art projects are the source from which the visual artist extracts a "painting" in the widest meaning of the word.
By way of printing or manually applying pigments to surfaces the traditional static image becomes a derivate of a particular new media image, which is in itself a flow of visual data. Peter Weibel somewhere stated that the main achievement of the new media is the forced rebirth of the traditional media.

Each image is a personal statement of a human and the montage of multiple images corresponds to a network of interhuman relationships including the visitor's interactions by way of creating a personal path through the work.

Formally established in 2003 but active since 2000, ArtNetLab is an autonomous production unit for intermedia (multimedia) art in Slovenia. It is an experimental unit which connects art and science, presenting techno-performances which utilise interactive devices, projects developed as open source art, and interactive art-Internet video projects. ArtNetLab enables young intermedia artists to develop their projects using the latest information technologies and participate in various intermedia arts festivals in Slovenia and abroad.
